LIVE LINE SURGE ARRESTERS
Live Line Testing of surge Arresters and insulators
Designed to operate in substations and power lines
Works with voltages up to 1.000 kV
100% reliability ensured in detecting any conductive defects
High Line Division S.L. with exhaustive experience performing maintenance and troubleshooting on high voltage networks along the world has developed a preventive & predictive maintenance program entirely developed in hotline with the objective to extend the lifetime of the assets, eliminating the potential sources of outages and failures while the installation remains operative. We strive to reduce maintenance cost avoiding expensive equipment replacement related costs
In our need to optimize resources in the development of our inspection tasks and the obligation to include an energized testing method for surgeArresters and solid insulators, we have integrated the technology of analyzing the electric field of the surrounding area of the equipment as a method for the performance monitoring and detection of equipment breakdowns and malfunctions. Having demonstrated its effectiveness, this method has been included in our preventive maintenance program for substations and high voltage overhead lines.
Our Preventive Maintenance Program improves general operation integrity network reliability and increase performance under stressing conditions.

ANALYSIS & DATA CAPTURE
The electric field analysis in surge arresters, insulators and other switchgear in substations detects failures in the conductivity of the elements. The equipment tester, once attached to a universal stick, glides along the surface of any shape of bushing or insulator to be tested, allowing the test probe to detect the distortions in the electric field that cause defects in the insulator. The probe detects and records the distortion indicating the fault. The data is instantly downloaded to a laptop at the field site, which is handled and interpreted by an electrical engineer, displaying a graph showing the extent of the defect.
Reads the E-field and analyzes the field distorsions caused by conductive effects
Substation bushings and insulators can be tested without interrupting power transmission
Completely safe since the tester required no conductive contact with energized insulators
Reliable analysis for porcelain and polymeric insulators
Test results are instantly transmitted via Bluetooth to a Tablet/Laptop
Detailed graph of the E-field of the bushings or insulators shows the severity og the defect
Customer Requirements Identification is the first stage when we identify customer requirements, standards and specific project needs and expectations. Here is where we establish the general project guidelines, standards, inspection parameters & general processes take place.
Data Capture & Interpretation of Results, instantly in the field through Bluetooth transmission of test records to a laptop and generation of status graphs. In this way, rapid assessments can be made periodically to ensure safe conditions, prevent power outages and equipment damage caused by faulty surge arresters and insulators. Designed for fully energized tests, this tester eliminates the need for planning to de-energize sections of substations to check insulators subject to a maintenance plan or in doubt about their operations functionality.
